There was an interesting thread on the Steam Forums
about games you have to play before you die. The original poster asked for a list of games which are not necessarily the favs of the people. The games listed here are in my opinion a must play but not in a particular order, so I gave every game the pos 1. So here we go with my toplist about the games everyone should play before he dies.

 Tetris One of the greatest puzzle games in game history. Tetris was ported to nearly every system available on this planet. With its simple but addictive and challenging gameplay it’s still one of the best puzzle games available in game history. |

 Half Life 2 This is definitely the best fps title available on planet earth. Focusing on a great story, implementing great physics capabilities and looking good/great until today this game is a must play for everyone. Although I would recommend to play its predecessors Half Life (and maybe also the Blue Shift and Opposing Force) before playing this title. |

 The Great Giana SistersWho remembers this one? I got this one on my Amstrad CPC while others could play it with better graphics on a C64 or an Amiga, this was still one of my favorite platform games ever. |

 Ghost n Goblins An awesome platform game for the Commodore 64. Maybe there are better platform games of that time, maybe there are alternatives and/or more popular titles, but this is one of the most challenging titles. I remember it was even for arcade standards a very difficult game. |

 Arkanoid A Breakout clone at it’s best. Nice looking graphics, great music and hours, days, months of gameplay. An addictive one who stands for the complete genre. |

 Bubble Bobble 100 Levels + a nice bubble dragon = best arcade game ever. First played this game on arcade machines before getting it on a Commodore 64. Awesome game with cute graphics. I was addicted for years. |
You think there are other games worth to mention? Yes I completely agree with you. At a whole there are about 30 games who deserve the title “you must play before you die”. I tried to select the most important games and I think some of the titles could easily be replaced by others. Some of you might think there are other more important games out there. You are right. But I think with this list I covered the best games I can remember I played since I got my first machine.
