Toplist – greatest games 2014

Here we go with my personal top 10 games of 2014. 2o14 was a good year in gaming. Many promising titles have been released and so the decision this time wasn’t that easy. Here are my favorite games of the last year and/or games that caught my attention

1.	Alien Isolation Who did expect that. After the Aliens: Colonial Marines desaster nobody would have expected the Alien franchise to rise back into the gaming scene. This is not only the best Alien title ever released but also the best game in 2014. Definitely a GOTY!!! Even if you are not a fan of survival games you should try this out.
2.	The Wolf Among Us It’s no secret that Telltale are really good in story telling. They have proven with “The walking dead” how compelling this genre could be. While sticking to their episode philosophy The Wolf Among us might be their best game ever released.
3.	This War of Mine Did you ever wonder how it would feel to be a survivor? I mean a real survivor. An ordinary man not a soldier not a hero. If you would like to do so than try this game out. Didn’t have this one on the plan and than it smashed and BOOOOM.
4.	Far Cry 4 what can we say about this one? Nothing else but “beatiful”. One of the best looking games in 2014. The rest? Talking about gameplay? If you are familiar with Far Cry 3 than I don’t need to explain more.
5.	Dark Souls II You will die in this game, and I mean you will really die. You will die often you will die really cool. A hard one. As good as its predecessor. I think better but I leave the choice to you.
6.	FIFA 15 I’m not really that a sports fan when it comes to gaming but I must admit this one is the best sports game ever released. A very polished game and very fun to play. Played hours of this game with friends and must admit: “good work EA”.
7.	Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor This one is unexpected. While I’m really no fan of Middle-earth the game sucks you into the world of Middle-earth and doesn’t let you go. In fact this game is from the gameplay aspect everything Assansis Creed tries to be. And instead of being a cheap copy of AC this game makes everything better than Assassins Creed.
8.	The Vanishing of Ethan Carter You don’t know this game? I didn’t either but grabbed it on a sale due to its fantastic looking screenshots. I was not wrong. It’s a very beautiful and astonishing atmospheric story-driven exploration game. Grab it!
9.	The Binding of Isaac Rebirth The Binding of Isaac is a must have in video games. Rebirth uses a new engine and adds lots of new contents so it’s a must have for die-hard fans and newbies. So much fun you won’t regret spending some bucks on this title.
10.	Metro Redux Metro, one of the best games ever, comes on 10th place simply because it’s only a remake. Although already rated earlier this game deserves to be listed gain since playing Metro 2033 with the latest engine iteration is a blast.
