As today announced by Devolver Digital through Twitter, Shadow Warrior 2 is coming. Thinking about the great and outstanding first Shadow Warrior developed by Flying Wild Hog, here a short wishlist for the sequel:
- Please let Flying Wild Hog develop the sequel. Those guys care about pc gaming and did an awesome job on their first two titles (JUJU is not counted here). Rumors say they currently are working on a fantasy game so it better be SW2. If not, than we have problem. Don’t give this ip to an other studio. Don’t do that. FWH showed that they care about an ip and respect it. You don’t wanna have another “Aliens: Colonial Marines” fiasco in your testimonials do you?
- Please let Flying Wild Hog use their Road Hog Engine. Their last title JUJU was developed using the Unreal Engine but the Road Hog Engine is one of the few engines out there which is absolutely great optimized for pc allowing even non-high-end system great visuals at good framerates. Maybe the UE is better suited for cross-platform development since it’s already optimized for consoles too and I understand that the console market is very important to a publisherfor letting the money flow in, but hell all UE games look the same and with FWH we have a studio which is what id Software was back in the Doom and Quake days. They care about pc gaming and push pc gaming to a level other companies dream about. The Road Hog Engine is a breath of fresh air, make use of this advantage.
- Please leave the importance of the Katant untouched. One of the big pros of the first SW was the fun at sword fights. Being able to play through the complete game using only the Katana was more fun than anything else. There is nothing compared to slicing some enemies the Wang-way…
- Don’t even dare to censor the game in any way for the german market. As a bad trend, publishers tend to implement geo lock features in Steam or censor the content to comply with local laws of Germany, Australia etc. As stated the whole time: FWH care about pc gaming. The geo lock feature of Steam (and now GoG) is hurting pc gaming so you cannot do that. Microsoft seems to be the only one who dropped that idea for their XBOX1. Why do you try to kill something that made you rich? PC gamers will appreciate if you drop that idea. We want to play that game like its intended from the devs.
